Frequently Asked Questions

  • We would leave a day in between. Shaving takes off a fine layer of skin along with the hair, so applying an AHA straight afterwards will sting more than usual and can leave the area looking red. On shave days, stick to the Body Wash and follow with the Argan Body Oil. Save the Brightening Peel for the days in between, when your skin has had time to settle.

  • Skin renews itself over roughly a month, so give it at least one full cycle of consistent use before judging the results. Fewer new bumps tends to be the first thing people notice. The dark marks left behind by older ingrowns take longer, because that pigment sits deeper in the skin and needs several rounds of turnover to lift.

Consistency matters more than intensity here. Using the Brightening Peel two to three times a week without fail will do more than using it daily for a week and then stopping.

  • Yes. The Brightening Peel is alcohol-free and formulated for use on both face and body, and the bikini line is one of the areas people reach for it most, alongside underarms and inner thighs.

Apply it to the outer skin only, never internally. Skip it on broken skin, on any area that is already irritated, and on the day you shave or wax. If it is your first time using an AHA on a sensitive area, start once a week and build up from there.

  • Yes, all Saya Skin products are safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, with new products, it is always recommended that you consult your healthcare professional for personalised advice, as your skin can become more sensitive during and/or post-pregnancy.

  • The Brightening Peel is made for gentle exfoliating action. It is powered by a gentle alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), Lactic Acid to dissolve dead skin cells as well as complementary soothing ingredients such as Liquorice Peel that helps to calm and reduce any potential redness. For sensitive skin types or users who are unfamiliar with AHAs in general, it is recommended to gradually introduce the peel into your routine to build a long-term tolerance for it.

  • Yes, a light tingling or mild stinging sensation can be experienced when using Saya Brightening Peel, as the exfoliating acids work to loosen and lift away dead skin cells on the surface. This sensation is typically brief and is part of how exfoliating peels support skin renewal.

  • It is recommended to start using the peel once a week as an exfoliating treatment and slowly increase the frequency to 2-3 times a week as your skin adapts to it. More exfoliation does not equate better results for your skin, as skin needs time to repair and regenerate. Over-exfoliation of the skin can contribute to a weakened skin barrier in the form of skin sensitivity, redness and/ or breakouts.
